Resolutions on Nagorno Karabakh conflict adopted at OIC Foreign Ministers Council meeting

According to Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s press service, the Secretary General of the OIC, Mr Iyad Ameen Madani touched upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and noted they support Azerbaijan. He draw attention to that Azerbaijan’s territories are still under occupation and addressed OIC members to support Azerbaijan’s just position on the conflict. Madani said the OIC is ready to contribute to Azerbaijan for settlement of this conflict within the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

The Ambassador Agshin Mehdiyev said in his speech that Azerbaijan is solidary with the Muslim countries and Baku is interested in strengthening of cooperation with the OIC member states. He also underlined importance of strengthening the efforts within the OIC for prevention of the international terrorism and Islamophobia.

The Final Jeddah Declaration adopted as a result of the meeting includes solidarity with Azerbaijan’s just position on Armenia-Azerbaijan, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The OIC foreign ministers council has adopted resolutions “Aggression of the Armenian republic against the Azerbaijan Republic” and “Destruction and insult of historical and cultural heritage and worship centers belonging to Islamic religious in the territories of Azerbaijan occupied as a result of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan”.
