The head of state stressed that Nagorno-Karabakh is an historical land of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people have lived in this land for centuries.
“Armenia has occupied twenty percent of Azerbaijan's territory and one million people were forced to live as refugees and internally displaced persons. Genocide was committed in Khojaly, claiming the lives of 600 children, women and elderly people”, the president said.
Recalling that UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on the liberation of Azerbaijan’s occupied territories, the president said the resolutions of the Security Council are sometimes fulfilled within a day, and in some cases they remain on paper. He added that the conflict should be resolved within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
