Palestinian, Israeli ambassadors to Azerbaijan share opinions on Jerusalem synagogue terror attack

Rafael Harpaz: “Israel will continue to defend its citizens”

Baku. Anakhanum Idoyatova – APA. Be it against Palestinians or Israelis, we condemn any act of violence against civilians, Palestinian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nasir Abdulkarim said in a statement to APA of the latest incidents in Jerusalem.

The diplomat noted that these events are not going to change the current situation in the Middle East, pointing out that this kind of incidents is likely to be repeated unless Israel ceases invading Palestinian lands.

“The solution to the problem is to put a peaceful end to invasion. This conflict must be resolved within the borders that had existed prior to 1967. If this comes to happen, the states of Israel and Palestine will be able to live together in peace. And there will be no room for extremists. I repeat once again that we condemn any act of violence against civilians. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has made the same statement today”, said N.Abdulkarim.

Note that, an assault on a Jewish synagogue in Jerusalem left 4 dead today. Two Palestinians who carried out the attack were killed by the Israeli police.

Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz said in his statement to APA President of the Palestinian Authority is responsible for the latest events.

The diplomat regarded the synagogue incident as a tragedy.

“It was a horrific attack that took place while innocent people were praying in the synagogue. All responsibility is upon Mahmoud Abbas who continuously makes statements against Israelis. The systematic incitement he leads againist jews ”, he stressed.

The ambassador said similar incidents have been repeated over the past few weeks, noting that Israel will continue to defend its citizens.
