Baku-APA. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on the sidelines of OSCE 21st Ministerial Council in Basel had a meeting with Michael Link, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, APA reports.
The issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed between the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and Azerbaijan during the meeting.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov noted that, biased election monitoring, preparation of election monitoring reports based on certain instructions and employment of double standards on these very issues obstructs the cooperation with this institution and undermines confidence in it.
Noting the interest of ODHIR in cooperation with the countries, Michael Link, stressed the importance of preventing discrimination in electoral and human rights issues and added that the organization will put particular emphasis on these comments. He also expressed his intention to visit the region.
