Khalaf Khalafov receives Executive Secretary of International Anti-Corruption Academy

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov received Executive Secretary of the International Anti-Corruption Academy Martin Kreutner.

Khalafov said at the meeting that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the fight against corruption at the national and international levels, the Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA.

He said that the international cooperation is of great importance against this global threat and he expressed satisfaction over the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the International Anti-Corruption Academy.

Speaking about the measures taken for fight against corruption Khalafov said that transparency is ensured in the activities of state structures, the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovation "ASAN Xidmet" Center has been established, state services for citizens have been made available electronically, the Anti-Corruption Department has been established under General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Kreutner stressed that he praises the cooperation of Azerbaijan with the International Anti-Corruption Academy and Azerbaijan’s national experience in the fight against corruption is praiseworthy. He said that Azerbaijan announces as a priority the fight against corruption during its chairmanship to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, today Azerbaijan hosts the conference on “The fight against corruption: international standards and national experiences” and the 3rd session of the assembly of member states of the International Anti-Corruption Academy and he characterized all of these as an obvious evidence for Azerbaijan’s support to the international efforts in the fight against corruption.
