Khalaf Khalafov meets with Belarusian First Deputy FM

Baku – APA. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov has received a delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Alexander Mikhnevich.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that during the meeting Khalaf Khalafov expressed contentment of the current state of relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus in the areas of economy, humanitarianism, education, culture, etc. as well as within international organizations.

Khalaf Khalafov said Azerbaijan always attaches importance to the development of regional relations and that it’s important to develop bilateral and multilateral dialogues in this area.

Informing the guest about the course of negotiations on the Karabakh settlement, the deputy FM said the problem still remains unresolved as Armenia does not put an end to its aggressive policy and not liberate the Azerbaijani lands.

The issue of Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union within the UN-recognized borders was brought up at the meeting. And it was noted that Armenia has to practically fulfill some relevant principles.

In his turn, Mr Mikhnevich also expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of relations between the two countries and the level of cooperation within international organizations. He stressed the importance of extending regional cooperation.
