Elmar Mammadyarov: â€˜We held discussions with the PACE President on priorities of Azerbaijanâ€™s chairmanship of CoE Committee of Ministersâ€™ - <span style="color: red;">PHOTO

In his exclusive statement to APA, Elmar Mammadyarov said they held discussions mainly on Azerbaijan’s priorities during its chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe: “We held quite a productive meeting with Mrs Anna Brasseur. During the meeting, I told her about the top priorities for Azerbaijan’s sixth-month period of chairmanship and our program ratified within this period. In general, we think the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe needs to expand even further. And we believe there are great opportunities for that. At the same time, Azerbaijan has always expressed its position openly to both PACE and the member countries. We continue to work in this area. There are, of course, some gaps and negative cases. We understand it. There some powers behind these issues. However, we are not afraid of them and need to build our work. First, we must protect Azerbaijan’s independence. Azerbaijan’s independence must last forever”.
