Azerbaijani President: "The European market is the most profitable for us"

Baku-APA. “With regard to energy issues, there is a great opportunity for our cooperation. Azerbaijan plays an important role in the new energy sources for Europe”, Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev said in a press statement in Budapest, on November 11, APA reports.

Reminding that Azerbaijan is the initiator of the Southern Gas Corridor, the President expressed satisfaction the Southern Gas Corridor is already being implemented: "Two months ago a solemn ceremony was held in Baku and we already begin to build a new gas pipeline. In fact, it will make new additions to the energy map of Europe. This energy map, in fact, will be changed, and rich gas resources of Azerbaijan will transport to the European market. We have a specific timetable for the work associated with the Southern Gas Corridor. I am sure that Azerbaijani gas in due time - in the years 2018-2019 will be transported to Europe."

The President noted there is a need for a high level coordination work: "Must find a solution issues both bilaterally and between the EU and Azerbaijan, as we want to implement the project in a timely manner. This is necessary both for us and for Europe. It will be new, alternative sources of gas to Europe. The European market is the most profitable for us. That is where our interests coincide. "

Stressing that the same interests of the transit countries, consumers of Azerbaijan coincides, Ilham Aliyev said has made decision to begin talks in the Hungarian-Azerbaijani bilateral format on this matter in the near future: "I am confident that these negotiations will have excellent results, as we want, our rich natural gas resources to the maximum extent transported to European countries. Of course, here we are talking about large investments. A significant portion of these investments Azerbaijan undertook."

"Preliminary estimates of the Southern Gas Corridor are such that it is necessary to make investments in the amount of at least $ 45 billion. Stressing the great importance and humanitarian spheres Ilham Aliyev thanked Mr. Prime Minister, for being singled out for Azerbaijani students 200 scholarships. “The Hungarian party software organizes data scholarships. This is a great support for us and a sign of respect for us."

"Of course, we'd like Hungarian universities to open their branches in Azerbaijan. This issue was also discussed yesterday and today. I am confident that together we will achieve this.
