Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. In the late September, the capital city of Tallin will host the meeting of the Azerbaijani-Estonian Intergovernmental Commission, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Estonia Tofig Zulfugarov told journalists, APA reports.

The diplomat said the agenda of the meeting is already known. He recalled that some procedures of information and communication technologies (ICT) at ASAN Xidmət centers are being done by Estonian IT companies.

The ambassador also noted that the trade turnover is not that high as the distance between the two countries are geographically large: ‘In the areas of ICT and banking, however, we have growing relations. We’re also trying to develop scientific relations”.

Tofig Zulfugarov added that one of the earliest Azerbaijani diaspora organizations had been established in Estonia: “A bit more than 1,000 Azerbaijanis live in Estonia. But they are very active in the country. Estonia is the only country that an Azerbaijani is a member of its parliament. Eldar Efendiyev, member of the Parliament of Estonia, has largely been contributing to relations between Estonia and Azerbaijan. The Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Estonia Interparliamentary Friendship Group is also Eldar Efendiyev. And the Estonian side is frequently attending the events held in Azerbaijan as well”.
