He said the trade turnover between the two countries reached 3b and cooperation must continue in this direction.
“We also discussed regional issues, processes in Syria, Turkey, Iran and Ukraine and exchanged views on cooperation in education,” he said.
The German FM stated that Germany intends to strengthen cooperation with the countries participating in the EU Eastern Partnership programme, including Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan strategically plays an important role as a bridge between the East and West and is very important country for us in terms of energy. We have extensive economic ties. The Southern Gas Corridor is a very pretentious project and opens up great prospects for bilateral cooperation,” he said.
