Despite the support of the majority of member states and calls for the use of the Aghdam-Khankandi road proposed by Azerbaijan in order to eliminate the current claims about the “humanitarian situation” in the region, the Armenian Prime Minister’s refusal to accept the use of this road indicates Armenia’s intention to further aggravate the situation in the region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan notes in its commentary on the allegations made by Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at the government meeting, APA reports.
"Furthermore, as the majority of the members of the UN Security Council have emphasized, despite the importance of respecting the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity both in word and in deed in order to establish peace and stability in the region, it is concerning that the Armenian side is exhibiting a destructive position by repeating different pretexts such as “humanitarian situation in the region” and a “blockade,” the Ministry stressed.
