The next meeting of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic was held in Prague on June 6, APA reports citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
According to the information, the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, and the delegation of the Czech Republic was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Jan Maryan.
During the consultations, views were exchanged on the prospects for the development of political relations between the two countries, and the importance of mutual visits and contacts within the framework of international events was emphasized in order to promote continuous political dialogue.
In the context of cooperation in the economic sphere, the possibilities of increasing bilateral trade turnover, as well as implementing joint projects in such areas as energy, transport, and high technologies were discussed. The strategic role of Azerbaijan within the framework of important transport projects, of which it is an initiator and active partner, including the Middle Corridor initiative, was highly appreciated.
At the same time, it was noted that cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and tourism will make a significant contribution to strengthening inter-people's relations.
The meeting also provided detailed information on the current situation in the region during the post-conflict period, the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process and the factors hindering this process, the steps taken by Azerbaijan to ensure lasting peace, as well as the mine problem in our liberated territories and the large-scale reconstruction and reconstruction work carried out there.
At the end, the parties exchanged views on issues of mutual interest on the regional and international agenda.
During the visit, F. Rzayev also held other bilateral meetings, as well as participated in roundtable discussions with representatives of leading research and think tanks.
