"The request to stop the strikes on Kiev was received by the Russian side through official channels," said Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with US President's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the Kremlin, APA's correspondent in Moscow reports.
According to Putin, no strikes have been launched on Kyiv since midnight. He also noted that the Ukrainian side has significantly reduced the number of attacks.
The Kremlin leader stressed that US President Donald Trump continues his efforts to contribute to the resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Putin said that contacts with Witkoff and Kushner are useful.
"Such contacts are always useful. Moscow is pleased to work with Witkoff and Kushner," the Russian President noted.
Putin also said that the American envoys will visit Kyiv after the talks in Moscow. Witkoff and Kushner's visit to Kyiv is scheduled for September 6.
