An agreement between Iran and Oman on a new corridor in the Strait of Hormuz, under which entry to and exit from the strait will be controlled by Iran, is expected to be signed in the coming days, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, APA reports.
He said Tehran would soon declare a restricted zone covering the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.
According to Rezaei, vessels entering the designated area without authorization will be blacklisted by Iran.
Rezaei also noted that Iran could guarantee that the Strait of Hormuz would remain open if the United States ends its attacks and provocations.
