South Korea, the United States and Japan have launched trilateral naval exercises in international waters south and east of South Korea’s Jeju Island, APA reports.
The five-day exercises, dubbed “Freedom Edge,” cover several domains, including maritime, air and cyberspace operations.
The three countries aim to enhance their joint operational capabilities and strengthen their ability to deliver coordinated responses under various conditions.
Seoul says the exercises are defensive in nature and are being conducted in accordance with international law.
