A fuel tanker explosion following a traffic accident on the Sanandaj-Hamedan highway in western Iran killed 10 people and injured five others, APA reports citing Mehr News.
"Following a traffic accident on the Sanandaj-Hamedan highway, a fuel tanker exploded and caught fire, and the fire spread to several vehicles at the scene," Babak Hedayi of the Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences said.
The five injured people were taken to Kowsar Hospital in Sanandaj. Rescue and firefighting operations remain underway, while authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
