Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministers hold meeting

Baku. Victoria Dementieva-APA. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has today received Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, APA reports.
After the meeting they held a joint briefing.
Mammadyarov said that the meeting covered relations between the two countries and his counterpart expressed Russiaâ€™s position on Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
â€œRussian Foreign Minister stated that they supported a peaceful solution to the conflict soonâ€, he said.
The meeting envisaged issues regarding border, trade and humanitarian cooperation and Mammadyarov noted that trade turnover between Russia and Azerbaijan reached over USD 2 bln and assessed it as factor of relations between the two countries.
Lavrov noted that the meeting was a part of intensive dialogue between two sides and the dialogue would be continued in Moscow. He invited Mammadyarov to Moscow.
Lavrov added that there were high prospects between the two countries in technology and investment and expressed his satisfaction with protection of Russian language in Azerbaijan. He mentioned that Baku branch of Moscow State University had been opened recently.
The meeting also discussed cooperation within the framework of Caspian Summit, as well as international organizations.
