"Azerbaijan and Jordan can jointly access nearby regions by utilizing their existing potential," Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a joint press conference with Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, APA reports.
The minister said that Jordan also has a significant interest in regions such as Central Asia: "My counterpart visited Uzbekistan before coming to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has good relations with the Central Asian countries. The importance of the Middle Corridor in the field of transport has also increased in recent years. At the same time, the Alat Free Economic Zone is a gateway to Central Asia. This could be an attractive destination for Jordanian investors. At the same time, Azerbaijan is implementing major projects to bring energy projects from the Caspian basin to global markets."
"In the context of the new regional environment, Middle Eastern countries are also developing new routes. Preparations are underway for new projects in the Jordan-Türkiye direction. There is great potential for Jordan to implement projects together with Azerbaijan, as well as with Türkiye. I have outlined the initial directions, but the potential here is much broader, and discussions are currently underway," Jeyhun Bayramov said.
