Russia's Saratov and Voronezh regions, as well as the Republic of Tatarstan, came under attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight into July 8, APA reports.
Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin said the UAV attack damaged civilian infrastructure, killing one person and injuring several others. Local and Ukrainian sources reported that a fire broke out at the Saratov oil refinery during the attack.
In the Voronezh Region, footage shared by local Telegram channels and analysis of open sources indicate that a fire broke out at the Borisoglebsk military airfield following drone strikes.
The authorities of Tatarstan also confirmed that several industrial facilities in the city of Nizhnekamsk were damaged in what they described as a "massive UAV attack." The press service of the republic's head said there were injuries but no serious consequences were recorded.
Ukrainian and some independent sources claim that the targets of the attack also included the Nizhnekamskneftekhim petrochemical complex and the TAIF-NK oil refining complex.
