European Commission to allocate 16 million euro for judicial-legal reforms in Azerbaijan

Baku. Lachin Sultanovaâ€“APA. European Commission will allocate 16 million euro to support reforms in the judicial-legal system of Azerbaijan, said the EC representation staff member in Azerbaijan Jean-Louis Lavroff, APA reports. He said EC representatives would meet with the officials of the Azerbaijanâ€™s Justice Ministry to discuss this project. Lavroff said the project would be carried out within the â€œEuropean Instrument of Democracy and Human Rightsâ€ paragraph of the Azerbaijan-EU Action Plan. The allocated resources will be spent to the legal reforms, improvement of the professional skills and strengthening the Justice Academyâ€™s activity.
The project will be carried out in three phases. Lavroff said the project aimed to support the strategy of Azerbaijanâ€™s government for the development of justice system.
