Elmar Mammadyarov: â€œWe will take stance on co-chairsâ€™ accurate proposals regarding core principles after Davos forumâ€

Lachin Sultanova-APA. â€œAfter a meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents and Foreign Ministers in Switzerland, we will take stance on co-chairs accurate proposals regarding core principles on the settlement of the conflict presented in Helsinki in December, 2008â€, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told journalists, APA reports.
The Minister mentioned that negotiations on core principles started in Czechia 4-5 years ago and it named Prague process afterwards.
â€œWe will state our opinions on Helsinki proposals basing on results of the meeting in Switzerlandâ€, he added.
Asked in what condition Azerbaijan will compromise, Mammadyarov stressed that Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity should be restored and IDPs should return back to their lands.
â€œWe are ready to compromise within the framework of these terms. We state unambiguously that Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity cannot be the subject of discussion. Azerbaijani lands should be liberated from occupation, IDPs should move to their lands, including Nagorno Karabakh,â€ he stressed.
The Minister took stance on conducting referendum in Nagorno Karabakh and stated that if there was a danger for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, nation-wide referendum should be held.
