Presidents of Azerbaijan and Estonia sign joint Declaration

Following this, the meeting continued with participation of the delegations, Presidentâ€™s press service told APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said Estonian Presidentâ€™s first official visit to Azerbaijan was a splendid opportunity to review the development of the bilateral relations.
â€œOur countries have good political relations and I am sure that this visit will strengthen our relations. More attention should be paid on practical sides of the partnership. We discussed the prospects of economic relations, the entrepreneurs from the two countries will have more opportunity to discuss them. Of course, regional development, situation and security in the region, energy issues â€“ all these are interrelated. The relations between the European Union and Azerbaijan, further development of these relations is very important for us,â€ he said.

Estoniaâ€™s President Toomas Hendrik Ilves mentioned that he visited Azerbaijan as Foreign Minister 10 years ago. He noted positive changes in Azerbaijan and said he could only recognize the Maiden Tower in Baku.
â€œEverything has completely changed. We have also passed this stage. On one hand everything looks different, on the other hand these feelings are familiar to us. I reiterate that I am glad to be here,â€ he said.

Following the meeting, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves signed a joint Declaration.
