Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Chairman of Ana Vatan (Motherland) Party, MP Fazail Agamali initiated to hold joint discussions of the political parties represented in Azerbaijani and Turkish parliaments on the current state of Turkey-Armenia relations. Agamali told APA that they had already talked to the parties represented in Azerbaijani parliament and got their consent. The parliamentarian considers that it is possible to make a number of issues clear and express unique position during the discussions.
“Turkey’s activeness in the Caucasus is praiseworthy. But there are concerns that the relations with Armenia will be improved, diplomatic relations will be established and borders will open. Three main principles always voiced by Turkish officials – Armenia’s releasing the occupied Azerbaijani territories, giving up Armenian genocide claims and territorial claims against Turkey – seem to have been forgotten. We want to say in the conference if Turkey refuses these main principles, establish diplomatic relations and open borders with Armenia, it will face the position and will of both Anatolian and Azerbaijani Turks,” he said.

Fazail Agamali also said that Azerbaijan’s ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) was not planned to participate in the conference.
“YAP is a ruling party and its participation in the discussions would not be proper,” he said.
He said next discussions among the parties would be held on December 16 and after that they would appeal to the parties represented in Turkish parliament.
