Baku. Ramil Mammadli-APA. “Misunderstanding on Caspian legal status depends on position of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, “Yahya Rahim Safavi, Advisor and Senior Aide for Armed Forces Affairs to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said during his speech at Tabriz University, APA reports Iranian Fars news agency.
He stated that they were interested in protection of national interests in Caspian Sea and Basra Gulf.
“Legal status of the Caspian Sea has not been determined by littoral states. Misunderstanding is linked with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan during the debates. Iran will not change its position for protection of national interests. Several factors have been solved in the settlement of this issue within current terms. The main problem is linked with division of gas and oil fields in the Caspian Sea”, he said.
