Next meeting of GUAM national coordinators to be held in Kiev February, 2009

Baku. Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. The 14th meeting of GUAM national coordinators was held in the new building of GUAM Secretariat. The issues on preparation for the 8th meeting of GUAM Foreign Ministersâ€™ Council planned to be held in Helsinki on December 4-5 and the meetings with the US, Poland, Japan and Czechia in the format â€œGUAM+â€ were discussed at the meeting. APA reports that deputy foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine, chargÃ© d’affaires of Moldova in Ukraine and GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili attended the meeting. Cooperation among the member states and current issues were discussed at the meeting. Protocol on the results of the meeting was signed.

It was decided to hold the next meeting of the coordinators in Kiev in February, 2009. The new building of GUAM Secretariat will also be introduced at that time.

Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov represented Azerbaijan at the meeting.
