US Embassy issues security alert reminder for US citizens in Azerbaijan

â€œThe Embassy reminds U.S. citizens that the possibility remains for actions against U.S. or other high-profile foreign interests in Azerbaijan. U.S. citizens in Azerbaijan should remain vigilant, particularly in public places associated with Western and Israeli communities. In addition, U.S. citizens should remain constantly aware of their surroundings, mindful about their personal security, and maintain an unpredictable daily scheduleâ€, the message reads.

Commenting APA question if the Embassy has strengthened its security measures, US Embassy press-officer Keith Bean stated that the United States Embassy is taking appropriate security measures.

The Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan issued a statement on the prevention of a terrorist attack in Baku. According to the press, Balagardash Dadashov, linked to Iranian security services, ordered to his helper Rasim Aliyev in his house in Ardabil on August 11, 2011 to kill foreign public figures.
