Senators didn’t support to take out “draft law criminalizing denial of genocide†form the agenda of the Senate.
At the Senate, members didn’t approved proposal of Constitution Commission on rejecting the bill. 167 against 87 Senators supported discussions of the draft law, APA reports.
The draft law considers 1-year imprisonment and 45000 euros money penalty to those who deny the genocides, including so-called “Armenian genocideâ€. If the Senate approves the draft law, it will be sent to the president for signing.
