Necdet Unuvar: Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister has summoned the French Ambassador to Baku and expressed his protest

Rashad Suleymanov – APA. “We witnessed the protests of the Azerbaijani people against the issue discussed at the French parliament and we are grateful for it,” head of Turkey-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Necdet Unuvar said at the press conference, APA reports. He said if the French Senate approves the bill criminalizing denial of the “Armenian genocide”, it will be written in the history of France with black letters.

The guest underlined that the issue was discussed during his meetings with Azerbaijani officials, parliamentarians and media representatives in Baku.
“Some steps were taken after the meetings. Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora organizations have started joint activity in France. Our embassies in Paris will act together regarding this issue. The committee on international relations of the Azerbaijani parliament has sent a protest letter to the French Senate, Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov has summoned the French Ambassador to Baku and expressed his protest,” he said.

Necdet Unuvar said withdrawal of France from OSCE Minsk Group will be favorable for Azerbaijan, region and even for Armenia.

The parliamentarian said Turkey has always supported and is supporting Azerbaijan.
“We closed the border with Armenia protesting against the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories,” he said.
