Lavrov said that mostly two issues were discussed in the negotiations: “The first issue is to impose a moratorium on the sturgeon fishery on the Caspian Sea, the second issue – the determination of sovereign zone and fishing zone. The Caspian littoral states couldn’t reach an agreement of opinion on the issue. Azerbaijan and Russia can not be blamed for thatâ€.
Minister said that the consultations on the second issue were continuing: “The main issue now is the discussion of the right for warships to navigate through these sovereign zonesâ€.
Lavrov said that the next summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states can be held in Moscow, but the information on the meeting’s date will be given afterwards.
