He said that on April 19, after eight-day silence Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Ministry finally answered the notes of the British embassy and officially confirmed Vugar Khalilov’s arrest.
Azer Khalilov said his brother’s lawyer and British consul were allowed to meet with Vugar.
“The lawyer says Vugar has not been interrogated. Vugar has been there for 10 days for nothing. He told his lawyer and the consul that he had health problems, wanted a doctor, but he was not offered medical aid. Now the lawyer is trying to achieve his examination. Vugar says his detention is illegal and he is not guilty. He does not know why he has been detained,†he said.
