BTG has made significant progress in raising global awareness of colonialism and decolonization, executive director says

"The media has played an invaluable role in efforts to raise global awareness of colonialism and the decolonization process," Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BTG) Abbas Abbasov said at the international conference titled "Media and Decolonization: Rising Voices, Empowered Narratives" held in Baku, APA reports.

He said that over the past three years, the BTG has made significant progress in raising global awareness of colonialism and decolonization.

Abbas Abbasov stressed that the professionalism, responsibility, and dedication of journalists are of vital importance in increasing global awareness.

"Your profession requires great dedication and integrity. It is a dynamic and demanding field that often requires working under intense pressure and tight deadlines. We highly appreciate your professionalism, commitment to your work, and sense of responsibility, which play a decisive role in informing the public and ensuring that societies receive accurate information," the BTG Executive Director said.
