Israeli ambassador: â€œAzerbaijan and Israel continue discussion of visa-free travel for diplomatsâ€

He said the issue was in the process of discussions due some bureaucratic reasons. (Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman proposed visa-free travel for the diplomats during his visit to Azerbaijan).

The ambassador said negotiations about the gas export from Azerbaijan to Israel were also continued. â€œIsrael found natural gas among its resources, but general picture for the gas transportation from Azerbaijan to Israel should be clear. After that we will see what position Israel takesâ€. (Israel intended to purchase 12 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas during 10 years and planned to start gas import in 2012).

Answering the question about the plans of Israelâ€™s Arkia air lines to carry out flights to Azerbaijan, Lothem said this was a business. He said tourism was rapidly developing in Azerbaijan, new hotels and roads were constructed. â€œI have visited Gabala few days ago. I saw new hotels and innovated roads there. We are witnessing a number of changes in the old city. This is an indication of the development of tourism. It will cause tourist flow to this countryâ€. The ambassador said Arkia was learning the issue of flights to Azerbaijan from the point of economic view.
