Azerbaijanâ€™s ruling party to join European Peopleâ€™s Party Madrid conference

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. The ministers of economy and finance of the European Peopleâ€™s Party member countries will gather in Madrid, Spain on April 15 for their conference. The New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) will also join the conference, YAP press service told APA. The ministers will discuss the prospects f relations between the member countries, their financial problems and ways out of the global financial crisis. YAP Deputy Chairman Ali Ahmadov said the European Peopleâ€™s Party was one of the authoritative institutions of Europe and its relations with YAP were gradually intensified. â€œThis cooperation is one of the important elements of Azerbaijanâ€™s integration into Europe. On the other hand, it proves the extension of cooperation between YAP and European institutions, as well as the powerful parties of the regionâ€.

Ahmadov said more than 70 European influential parties, including German Chancellor Angela Merkelâ€™s and French President Nicolas Sarkozyâ€™s parties entered the European Peopleâ€™s Party. He said APP President, former Belgian Prime Minister Wilfred Martinsâ€™ visit to Azerbaijan was a sign of importance EPP attached to Azerbaijan.
