Azerbaijani and Gambian foreign ministries sign protocol on cooperation

The Gambian minister expressed satisfaction with his first visit to Azerbaijan, press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA. Jammeh highly appreciated the current state of Azerbaijani-Gambian relations and emphasized the necessity in the development of bilateral relations. Welcoming the guest Elmar Mammadyarov said there was great potential to develop bilateral relationship in the economic, cultural, humanitarian, education, tourism and other fields and added that useful cooperation would deepen the relations between the countries. Minister Mammadyarov expressed gratitude to his counterpart for the Gambiaâ€™s support to Azerbaijanâ€™s fair position in the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict over Nagorno Karabakh within the international organizations, particularly UN and the Organization of the Islamic Conference. In response, the Gambian diplomat said his country would further support Azerbaijan in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. In the end, both ministers signed the protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambian Abroad.
