Mauritanian Foreign Minister sees signs of genocide committed by Armenians in Guba region of Azerbaijan

Guba. Konul Abdullayeva â€“ APA. The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mrs. Naha Mint Mouknass, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan for the first time on the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, visited Guba region of Azerbaijan on April 7. She was familiarized with the historic and cultural monuments of the region and said the goal of her visit to Azerbaijan was to establish friendly relationship between the countries. The minister said Azerbaijan and Mauritania would sign a memorandum on cooperation in the fields of diplomatic relations, culture, tourism and agriculture.

Naha Mint Mouknass said she was horrified with the signs of massacre committed by Armenians in Guba in 1918. â€œThe genocide is a barbarian action. It is impossible to be calm to this action. Everyone should know about this crime. I will inform about the Guba tragedy while returning to Mauritaniaâ€.

The minister also visited carpet workshop in Guba and Red Settlement populated by Jewish people.
