Azerbaijan and Estonia sign joint Declaration on relations

He said the European Union and member states were ready to share their rich experience in the reforms planned in Azerbaijan. President said Estonia being member of the European Union supported Azerbaijan’s membership of the World Trade Organization. Touching on the relations between the two countries Hendrik Ilves said 100 years ago on April 8 Estonian community was instituted in Azerbaijan, it proves that the relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia have historical roots.

The sides exchanged views on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
“Estonia supports solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict through negotiations. One should get ready for peace, not war, negotiations should be carried out patiently to coordinate the principles of the peaceful solution to Karabakh conflict,” he said.
Hendrik Ilves noted that Azerbaijan played an important role in the energy supply of the European Union. He appreciated Azerbaijan’s participation in the South corridor initiative. Following the meeting, joint Declaration on the relations was signed between Azerbaijan and Estonia.
Azerbaijani President will end his visit to Estonia tomorrow.
