Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev receives General Chairman of World Council for Renewable Energy

Baku - APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received General Chairman of the World Council for Renewable Energy Hermann Scheer on April 6, APA reports. Scheer noted there is rapid economic development in Azerbaijan. Speaking about great strides in the field of energy, the guest noted that the state of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev personally attach great importance to the fruitful use of the potential of renewable energy. Scheer said that Azerbaijan is one of the states, which attaches great importance to alternative sources of energy in the world and added the purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the current state and perspectives of the works carried out in Azerbaijan.

The head of state noted that all sectors of the economy are developing successfully in our country. The president said that the ongoing success of Azerbaijan’s energy policy has created a strong foundation of long-term energy supply. The President noted that at present Azerbaijan attaches particular significance to the creation of alternative energy sources and it is ready to cooperate with the leading companies of the world.
