Vice Speaker of Turkish Parliament Nevzat Pakdil: Possibly with the adoption of resolution on the so-called "Armenian genocide" by the U.S. Congress, Turkey will finally get rid of the blackmail
Answering to the APA’s US correspondents questions Mr. Pakdil said that the decision of US House Committee disappointed Turkish people.
“We said from the very beginning that we are not bluffingâ€, -He added.
According to the Turkish official, Turkey and United States are two allied countries and they don’t have serious problems in their bilateral relations.
The official said accusations of committing "genocide" during the 1915 events has always been used as a means of blackmail against Ankara, and possibly with the adoption of resolution on the so-called "Armenian genocide" by the U.S. Congress, Turkey will finally get rid of it.
"Turkey did not commit such crime. We think that the decision was made due to lack of informationâ€
Calling US politicians to leave the issue to historians, Pakdil added below:
“Turkey is towards leaving the issue to historians. We announced that we are ready to share all the documents and archives related to this issue. We hope that our American friends will behave in accordance with the historical truths.â€
The member of the Turkish Parliament also believes that, his country will use all its capabilities to prevent adoption of a resolution on the so-called "Armenian genocide" by the U.S. Congress.
The Turkish parliament delegation including Mr. Pakdil, came to US in order to participate in a number of cultural events. The mission now is in Houston.
