Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov meets with his Singaporean counterpart George Yong-Boon YEO

First, meeting was held in private and then in broad format, APA reports. Issues on bilateral relations, cooperation in energy, taxes and culture, and regional issues were discussed at the meeting.

Ministers held a briefing after the meeting. Mammadyarov said he had spoken to his colleague about the current stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh solution. To him, it was decided at the meeting to hold consultations on further development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Singapore.

At the briefing, it was noted that Singapore would participate in the construction of the Shipbuilding Plant of the â€œKeppel Offshore & Marineâ€ Company in the capital of Azerbaijan. The company’s share is 10 percent.

It was also noted that issue on establishment of air communications between the two countries were discussed at the meeting. Touching upon current air traffic between our countries through Dubai and Moscow, Singaporean Foreign Minister noted that he will hold discussions on the need to sign the agreement on air transport between Azerbaijan and Singapore on return to his country.

George Yong-Boon YEO also noted that consultations on the transition to facilitate the visa regime for citizens of Azerbaijan were held in his country.
