Azerbaijani embassy in Korea organizes Novruz festivity in Seoul

Baku â€“ APA. Novruz festivity was organized in Seoul on the initiative of Azerbaijani embassy in Korea. Azerbaijani people getting education or working in Korea, student and professors of Azerbaijani Language School of Korean University of Languages, representatives of diplomatic corps and public community attended the event, the embassy told APA. Azerbaijani ambassador to Korea Rovchan Jamsheedov congratulated the participants on Novruz Holiday and informed them about the history and traditions of Novruz. He said this ancient holiday was celebrated by a number of world people throughout the centuries and it played special role in the development of relations based on mutual respect, peace and friendly neighborhood between the countries. The ambassador also informed the participants about the UN General Assembly resolution on February 18, 2010, which declared March 21 an International Novruz Day. The draft resolution was proposed by Azerbaijan to develop ancient traditions in the world and to contribute to the dialogue between the civilizations. The official part of the ceremony was followed by the artistic program.
