In his meeting with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade on Wednesday, Tusk said, “For long years Azerbaijan is our valuable partner.”
“We do not conceal that we treat our Azerbaijani partners very seriously,” the Polish Prime Minister said.
In his words, it was one of the stimulus that convinced Poland to support the EU idea of Eastern Partnership. He is confident that the participation in this programme will be very important for the countries of the region, including for Azerbaijan. “I mean such opportunities that will get Azerbaijan access to European funding, ease the visa regime, and help solve international problems jointly, and bring in standards in the economy and politics,” Tusk said. The Polish Prime Minister said his country “will exert maximum effort to feel the Eastern Partnership advantages”. Rasizade said Azerbaijan sought to integrate into European structures. Azerbaijan rivets much attention to the Eastern Partnership programme. “We seek to develop multilateral relations with Poland and its support is very important fro us, including due to our drive for integration into Europe,” the Azerbaijani Prime Minister said. Commenting on economic relations, the prime ministers of the two countries said there was a big unused potential to develop cooperation in this field. Rasizade and Tusk said cooperation in the oil and gas sector, as well as transportation of Caspian energy resources to Europe, was one of the most important topics at their talks in Baku. At the same time, Rasizade said his country showed interest in developing the non-oil sector. He urged Polish companies to take an active part in Azerbaijani projects in this aspect.
