Baku – APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of condolences to President of Chile Michelle Bachelet. According to APA, the head of state said he accepted news about large-scale casualties caused by strong quake in Chile with deep grieve and expressed condolences to the President of Chile, families and relatives of the victims and all Chilean people in his own name and on behalf of Azerbaijani people and wished soonest recovery to injured people.
More than 700 people were killed as a result of 8.8-magnitude quake in Chilean Pacific coasts near the city of Concepcion on February 27. Tsunami alert was declared in nearby territories.
