Russian Foreign Ministryâ€™s official Andrei Nesterenko: â€œYuriy Merzlyakov received a new diplomatic appointmentâ€

The diplomat said it didnâ€™t need to pass ahead of the developments. â€œWe will announce the new co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group from Russia after Merzlyakov ends his mission as an ambassador at large. I am absolutely sure that the new co-chair will also work energetically like Merzlyakov. I would like to add that the co-chair is not determining Russiaâ€™s position at the OSCE Minsk Group. This position is determined by the President and realized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly our special representative at the Minsk Group, ambassador. Therefore letâ€™s wait for replacing of ambassadors. Russia will do its best to save energetic working schedule of the OSCE Minsk Groupâ€.

Answering the question about the anniversary of massacre against Azerbaijanis in Khojaly, Nesterenko said he was not ready to answer this question. â€œBut we will take into consideration your question about the foreign ministryâ€™s comments on this issue and it will be responded in the near futureâ€.
