Former ambassador: Azerbaijani parliament speakerâ€™s visit to Iran delayed long

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. â€œI think the visit of Azerbaijani parliament speaker Ogtay Asadov to Iran was delayed long. It needed to take place already. One of the elements of Iranian-Azerbaijani relations is the inter-parliamentary cooperation. This visit should contribute to the strengthening of relations, creating new cooperation opportunity, solution of problems remained so farâ€, former ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan Afshar Suleymani told APA.

Suleymani said this visit would promote the strengthening of mutual cooperation, he said the regional situation, as well as relations between the parliaments of Muslim countries could be discussed during the visit. â€œThese relations should have intensive character. Former speaker of the Iranian parliament also visited Azerbaijan. I think such meetings could be usefulâ€.
