Interlaken. Fouad Gulubeyli – APA. “Russia ratifying Protocol 14 of European Convention on Human Rights demonstrated its loyalty to European values. It will create an opportunity for the protocol ratified by 46 members of the organization to come into force from June 1 this yearâ€, said Secretary General of the Council of Europe Tjornborn Jagland, APA European bureau reports.
“Today we come together in Interlaken on the initiative of Swiss government to discuss the future of European Court of Human Rights and the ratification ended our long-term negotiations with the Russian officials and laid foundation of reforms in the Courtâ€. The protocol will create opportunity for effective review of complaints received by the Strasbourg-based courtâ€.
