Meeting with Head of European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan at the Center for Strategic Studies

Meeting was held with Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Roland Kobia at the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) on February 18. Azerbaijan-EU cooperation and its perspectives were discussed at the meeting, APA reports.
Kobia touched upon the cooperation issues in political, economical, cultural and energy spheres. He spoke about humanitarian projects he had realized in Azerbaijan since 1993 and about European Neighbourhood Policy which had been set out since 2003. Kobia especially dwelled on Eastern Partnership Program. He paid attention to possibility of both bilateral and comprehensive cooperation within the framework of this program.
Answering the questions, the ambassador spoke about energy security and EU’s attitude towards the South Corridor. He said the purpose of the South Corridor was to diversify the energy resources of Europe and reduce the Europe’s energy dependence in this manner.
