Iranian MP Vekil Sepah: It is not right to interfere in Azerbaijan-Israel relations, this is internal affair of Azerbaijan

Baku. Suleyman Farzaliyev â€“ APA. â€œThe current state of Iran-Azerbaijan relations is satisfactory. But the relations between the two countries may be increased more,â€ member of Iran and Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship commission, representative of Parsabad people in the Islamic Assembly of Iran Vekil Sepah told APA. According to him, the enemies of Azerbaijan and Iran, those who do not love these two states want to damage the relations between them.
â€œThis is natural. I think, Azerbaijan has not been promoted well enough in Iran. Iran has not been presented appropriately in Azerbaijan, either. More should be done to extend our cultural, economic, commercial and diplomatic relations,â€ he said.

The parliamentarian says that it is Azerbaijanâ€™s success that businessmen from US, UK, Israel, France and other countries make investments in Azerbaijanâ€™s economy and establish big companies here.
â€œBut Iranian businessmen sometimes face problems in establishing companies and making investments in Azerbaijan. Actually, it should not be so, Iranian businessmen should not face difficulties in Azerbaijan, I regard as the interference of external factors,â€ he said.

Vekil Sepah appreciated the official visit of Azerbaijani parliamentâ€™s speaker Ogtay Asadov to Iran scheduled for Saturday and said it would have positive influence on the development of the relations between the parliaments. He said the members of Iran-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship commission planned to visit Azerbaijan in April, 2010.

The parliamentarian also commented on the abolition of visa travel for Azerbaijanis.
â€œIt is destined for comfort of Azerbaijanis, I had raised this issue in the relevant bodies of Iran several times. Any Azerbaijani having foreign passport can travel to Iran anytime. This is a goodwill action of Iran for friendly Azerbaijani people. Iran has always supported and respected Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity. Though we have separate states, our roots and mentality are similar,â€ he said.

Commenting on Azerbaijan-Israel relations, the parliamentarian said it was internal affair of Azerbaijan.
â€œIt is not right to interfere in this issue. But being a Muslim country we are concerned over Azerbaijanâ€™s good relations with Israel. Israel is losing its influence in the region and a number of countries have turned away from Israel for the crimes committed in Gaza and Palestine. Everybody is aware of Israelâ€™s aim,â€ he said.
