GUAM, UN Office on Drug and Crime holds joint workshop

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva â€“ APA. GUAM and UN Office on Drug and Crime held two-day sub-regional workshop on improvement of legal cooperation for combating terrorism at the GUAM Secretariat in Kiev. According to APA, judges, prosecutors, law-enforcement officials of GUAM countries, representatives of the UN Office on Drug and Crime, as well as experts from the US, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, EU, OSCE/ODIHR and Council of Europe Experts Committee on combating terrorism participated at the workshop.

The participants exchanged opinions about the universal legal frames regulated legal assistance and extradition and implementation of the Council of Europe concepts. They reviewed experience of the United States, Germany,
Bosnia-Herzegovina and GUAM countries in the field of combating terrorism, as well as extradition and observing supremacy of law in mutual legal assistance.
