Baku – APA. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a letter to Turkish President Abdullah Gul, APA reports quoting Armenia Today. Sargsyan calls his Turkish counterpart to demonstrate resolution and take step that will serve the normalization of the relations between the two countries and stability in the region. The letter says:

“The world community continues keeping in the center of attention our initiative on the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations. Indeed a historical moment appeared and not only we, but the whole world realizes it. The efforts of the great states playing role in the processes in the region are very important in the normalization of the bilateral relations. I am sure that it would be difficult to move forward without their mediation. Besides, I think that friendly countries are not able to do the same as the two nations can do; even if they are very interested in positive end of the process. Methinks You also agree that we play the main role in the formation of the atmosphere of confidence and break stereotypes between the Turkish and Armenian nations. We can achieve the result only with belief, sureness and adherence to principles. Otherwise, there appears distrustful if word and act are in contradiction with each other and it gives big opportunity to the opponents of the process. We raised the bilateral relations to such level that today one can see and perceive the establishment of normal relations. It is the time to show determination, step to forward and leave safe, stable territory to future generations”.
