Moscow – APA. “I can’t imagine peaceful passing of Nagorno Karabakh to Azerbaijan’s jurisdiction again”, vice speaker of Russian State Duma and chairman of Russian Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky told Voice of America commenting on his recent statement about necessity of Russia’s recognition of Nagorno Karabakh separatist regime, APA reports. “Azerbaijani-Armenian contradictions are so deep that I can’t imagine peaceful solution of this process. Therefore the sides have to find new legal status acceptable for both of them. The government of Azerbaijan is offended with my thoughts, but I am not guilty in this ethnic conflict. As a person lived and worked in this region, I am saying only realities. Russia is not interested in achieving unilateral advantages favorable for Armenia and harmful fro Azerbaijan. Moscow advocates for stability in the region. I think Washington and Moscow have opportunities for cooperation in this context”.

In his interview with the Latvian newspapers, Zhirinovsky urged Russia to recognize independence of Nagorno Karabakh. Azerbaijan sent a note of protest to the Russian foreign ministry regarding this issue.
